Being on a budget and getting married does not have to be a dismal affair. There are so many sites out there that offer really great ideas that you can incorporate into your plan. My advice to all brides is to assess your budget and let your vendors know what you have to spend. They can then create an estimate based on your budget and go from there. We have created some of our most fabulous receptions for budget brides!

For catering ask your vendor if they can offer lighter portions or a drop off service that requires no staff to be present. If your catering budget is really small some brides opt for the simple, yet elegant trays of veggies, fruit, and dips.

Remeber to think about your budget and prioritze what you really want on the menu. A great caterer can incorporate some of your faves and also recomend some items that will work well. Here are some classic favorites that fit most budgets and that guests LOVE:

Fresh Seasonal Fruit & Veggie Displays                      Chips & Salsa                                          Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Cocktail Meatballs                                                             Tea Sandwiches                                      Deviled Eggs

Lasagna, House Salad, & Garlic Bread                                       Southern Style BBQ, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, & Cornbread                  A Pasta Buffet with several choices

Opting for clear plastic plates instead of china saves on cost per person and also staff fees.  A budget reception can look just as beautiful as one that cost much more.  A great caterer can work magic for your event, just ask!!

Remember that in a recession market you have many more options as catering companies need business for weddings to make up for lost corporate accounts. Let us know your budget and we can give you some real advice on what to plan for!!
